Dwane Casey didn't have to wait long to find a new home.

Casey is well-respected by players across the league, but was this the correct hire by Gores and the Pistons?

The Pistons have hired former Toronto Raptors head coach Dwane Casey.

Casey was the head coach of the Raptors since 2011, and took them to a conference finals appearance in the 2016 playoffs. But they were swept in the second by Cleveland and LeBron James, the third year in a row they have been eliminated by the Cavaliers.

Love Island 2018: Kendall dumped from cast as Adam couples with Rosie
This episode saw Kendall attempt to earn Adam's affections again after he "pied" her off, but with not-so-successful results. "The boys will choose and the girl not picked to be in a couple will be dumped from the island".

"I am excited and honored to join the Detroit Pistons, a franchise with a championship history and a roster that is ready to win now", Mr. Casey said.

Casey is the front-runner for the NBA's coach of the year award to be presented later this month. He was named Eastern Conference Coach of the Month five times, and last February, became the first coach in Raptors history to be selected to coach in the NBA All-Star game.

"I'm confident that this team has the pieces in place to compete at a very high level", Mr. Casey added.

Casey coached seven years in Toronto, making the playoffs the past five.

Prior to his appointment with Toronto, he served as head coach of the Minnesota Timberwolves from 2005-07. Part of getting the Pistons back on track will be fixing their offence, which ranked 22nd in both field goal percentage and points per game last season.

ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski reported the news Monday, saying it's a 5-year deal. The 61-year-old finished his tenure as the team's winningest coach but could never get it over the hump in the playoffs.
