Huntsman, who is the daughter of U.S. Ambassador to Russia Jon Huntsman, made the comment on "Fox and Friends Weekend" as Trump arrived in Singapore for his meeting with Kim, where the two are set to talk about the possibility of Pyongyang's denuclearization. Speaking with ten-day White House communications director Anthony Scaramucci, Huntsman memorably captioned the moment: "This is history".

"This is history. We are living - regardless of what happens in that meeting between the two dictators, what we are seeing right now, this is history".

Fox & Friends presenter Abby Huntsman in a selfie posted on her Twitter account to promote the show's coverage of the Trump-Kim summit.

"As you know on live TV, sometimes you don't always say things perfectly. I did not mean that, my mistake, so I apologise for that".

Seemingly sensing Hunstman's slip, Scaramucci opted to brush the comment aside, opting instead to give the USA president some praise.

Kim Jong-un has echoed President's Trump's belief that you can know how complex worldwide negotiations on highly technical matters of nuclear technology will go from the outset if you rely on touch and feel.

Another person chimed in, writing, "We wouldn't be human if we were 'perfect'".

Many described Huntsman's words as a "Freudian slip", while others claimed the network, known for its favorable coverage of Trump, had finally told "the truth".

Huntsman also tweeted an apology regarding the incident.
