Although Stanley Kubrick's The Shining became a cult classic, King was famously dissatisfied with the 1980 adaptation, and went on to write his own 1997 television miniseries. King released a sequel called Doctor Sleep in 2013, which tells of how Danny, now an adult, has inherited his father's alcoholic tendencies and uses his powers to help the terminally ill.

His attorney told the judge that the UFC star is negotiating a plea deal with prosecutors. Speaking outside the court, McGregor said: "I regret the actions that led me here today".

While the idea of a "Shining" sequel may worry horror fans, the source material coming from King himself and the involvement of director Mike Flanagan bode well for the final product.

Kim expressed readiness at Trump summit to meet with Abe: Japanese official
On Wednesday, Japan's Defense Minister Itsunori Onodera pointedly said the drills played a "vital role in East Asia's security". After arriving back at the White House, Trump lashed out at some of the television coverage of his agreement with Kim.

"Doctor Sleep" begins as Torrance carries the trauma of the Overlook Hotel into adulthood. McGregor will play the adult version of Danny Torrence, the terrified tot plagued by psychic powers who you probably remember best for screaming "Redrum" while he watched his father descend into a murderous rage. Through shining, he connects with a girl who has similar powers and is being targeted by an evil group. They've found that their powers grow if they inhale the "steam" that comes off others with the power to shine, when they are suffering painful deaths. Now, however, it is thought to be one of the great horror classics and has a built-in fan base ready for a sequel. The actor next stars in Disney's "Christopher Robin", which opens August 3.
