The total eclipse will last 1 hour, 42 minutes and 57 seconds, with a partial eclipse before and after.

July's total lunar eclipse occurs on the same day the planet Mars reaches its opposition, when it will shine at its best in the night sky.

This will result in Mars coming close to the Earth, causing it to appear brighter than normal and it will be seen from evening to dawn towards the end of July. This means the sun's light is blocked by the Earth, and the moon passes into its shadow. The moon was in flawless alignment with the sun and Earth on Friday, with the moon on the opposite side of the Earth from the sun.

Lunar eclipses can occur only during a full moon, and this one was extra special because it was also the blood moon. When sunlight passes through the Earth's atmosphere, it will light the moon, giving it the red color and the name, Blood Moon.

TSA's 'Quiet Skies' program raises legal and civil liberty questions
If a flyer is on the list for a certain amount of time and travels without incident, they are automatically removed from the list. TSA documents show there are about 40 to 50 passengers on domestic flights that fall under Quiet Skies criteria each day.

Rain clouds and thunderstorms could prevent skygazers from seeing the "blood moon" lunar eclipse in some parts of the country as forecasters warn of torrential downpours across eastern parts of Great Britain. Astronomers call this interplanetary lineup, "syzygy", since planets appear brighter when they're directly behind Earth and directly in the path of the Sun's light. In India, the lunar eclipse is popularly known as Chandra Grahan.

But not everyone was able to see the eclipse.

When was the last blood moon?

Unlike like a solar eclipse, it is entirely safe to look directly at a lunar eclipse, and Friday's eclipse offered sky-watchers more time than usual to look.

Nothing neutral about August policy of Reserve Bank of India
This the first time since October 2013 that the central bank has hiked borrowing costs at two consecutive policy meetings. Reports suggest that RBI has kept the GDP forecast for the current fiscal unchanged at 7.4%.

You can still catch the eclipse live despite being on the other side of the world, though! At that time, it came within 34.6 million miles of earth, marking its closest approach in 60,000 years.
