Television are in the early stages of developing a reboot of the classic sitcom ALF.

Despite being off the air for almost three decades, ALF - an acronym for Alien Life Form - remains something of a hot pop culture property.

ALF's blue-collar speech and eagerness to take the lowest path on the way to a good wisecrack not only made him the most lowbrow member of the Tanner family - it also made the eight-stomached, cat-hungry Melmackian one of the most lowbrow aliens ever to grace a TV screen. The original Tanner family was played by Max Wright, Anne Schedeen, Andrea Elson, Benji Gregory, and various cats.

Though "ALF" been off the air for 28 years, the beloved character has remained a consistent fixture in pop culture ever since, from making an appearance in Delta's 80s-themed safety video to "ALF" references in TV shows like "Teen Titans Go!" and "The Big Bang Theory". Though the studio has yet to officially comment on the news, Warner Bros.is reportedly in the process of looking for a writer to pen the ALF reboot.
