Actor Steven Seagal appointed Russian ministry’s ‘special representative’

In November 2016, Michigan-born martial artist and action film star Steven Seagal visited Russian President Vladimir Putin at the Kremlin to receive an unusual gift: his very own Russian passport.

In the interview, Seagal also praised Putin as "a great world leader" and a "brilliant tactician". Seagal has said that it's "stupid" to think that Russian Federation or any other country has the technology to tamper with voting.

Russian Federation has appointed the U.S. actor Steven Seagal as a special envoy to improve ties with the United States.

Seagal, who has Russian roots, has been a long time supporter of the country, visiting it regularly as he opened a chain of the Planet Hollywood franchise in Moscow in the 90s.
