Apple, Facebook, YouTube ban conspiracy theorist Alex Jones's Infowars

Only one InfoWars podcast, a news recap called "Real News with David Knight", remains available via the Apple podcast app. But Facebook said unpublished pages can appeal that decision.

Last week, the company removed four videos on four Jones- and Infowars-related Facebook pages for violating its hate speech and bullying policies.

The Gateway Pundit blog, which noted the convergence of tech giants banning Infowars, said it found in an analysis that Facebook has eliminated 93 percent of traffic to top conservative websites since the 2016 presidential election.

Some of his conspiracy theories include the U.S. government staging the 9/11 attacks in NY and Washington, and the idea that the 2012 Sandy Hook school massacre was faked by the left-wing to promote gun control.

Apple, Facebook, YouTube and Spotify took their most aggressive steps yet to penalize conspiracy theorist and prominent right-wing talk show host Alex Jones for violating their hate speech policies.

Barcelona confirm Aleix Vidal set for €10.5m Sevilla return
Vidal has agreed a three-year contract with the La Liga champions and will now fly to Barcelona to undergo a medical. The Bayern Munich midfielder's move to Barca will be rubberstamped on Monday at the Nou Camp.

Monday marks exactly three months before the November 6 midterm elections - timing that had Jones and Infowars crying foul.

YouTube deleted the Alex Jones Channel on Monday morning.

In addition, Jones has also lost access to his Facebook pages. An earlier, more limited YouTube crackdown focused on videos that YouTube said violated rules against hate speech and child endangerment.

Soon thereafter, Jones and his podcast was banned by Spotify and five of the six Infowars podcasts were removed from Apple.

"We believe in representing a wide range of views, so long as people are respectful to those with differing opinions", an Apple spokesperson said.

Imran Khan’s PTI yet to announce formation of next Pakistan govt
PTI and MQM-P signed a nine-point memorandum of understanding (MoU) for the formation of government in the Centre on Friday. The MQM-P will have one minister in the federal cabinet, while an adviser would be inducted later, the report said.

Facebook acknowledged that Jones has violated their policies time and time again and that this has been an ongoing problem with Infowars. Spotify took down several episodes of the show last week.

Facebook had faced criticism and scrutiny for allowing Jones to remain on the site, despite his promotion of conspiracy theories that the Sandy Hook Elementary school shooting was staged and that survivors of the Parkland, Fla., school shooting were "crisis actors".

Infowars editor Paul Joseph Watson responded in an August 6 article, saying that the companies "all banned Infowars within 12 hours of each other, illustrating how last night's purge was a coordinated effort and has nothing to do with these platforms enforcing "hate speech" rules". Spotify has also started removing InfoWars material from its platform.

"In an unsurprising turn of events, InfoWars did not heed the warning and continued to post violent content; Facebook made a decision to act because Jones's pages had "[accumulated] too many strikes".

The Alex Jones Channel on YouTube on Monday displayed a banner saying the account had been terminated for violating community guidelines, and a spokesperson added by email that repeated violation of policies such as those prohibiting hate speech and harassment led to termination of accounts.
