Samsung mass producing 4TB 4-bit QLC solid-state drives

He added that 4-bit terabyte-SSD products will now rapidly spread throughout the entire market.

Samsung claims that the new family of 4-bit solid state drives, which will be available in 1TB and 2TB models as well, will maintain the same performance level as the 3-bit drives: a sequential read speed of 540 MB/s and a sequential write speed of 520 MB/s.

And if you're anxious about reliability, know that these drives will have a pretty generous three-year warranty.

China continues 'fair and lawful' business in Iran, despite US sanctions
Trump tweeted on Tuesday: "These are the most biting sanctions ever imposed, and in November they ratchet up to yet another level".

And Samsung reckons this SSD tech will filter through the rest of the memory world, which could yield cheaper high-capacity SSDs for consumers.

Samsung's foray into SSDs started in 2006 with its 1-bit single-level cell SSD which have 32GB capacity. A new round of NAND flash production at Samsung could finally make SSDs in the multi-terabyte range affordable and mainstream.

You can look forward to the initial 4TB QLC SSDs arriving later this year.

Chinese state media slams Trump for 'extortion'
In a statement , the Commerce Ministry said China could add duties of 5, 10, 20 or 25 percent on 5,207 types of USA imports. Chinese officials are trying to reassure markets and the local population that the USA moves would have little impact.

The company also expects to provide M.2 NVMe SSDs for enterprises and start mass production of 4-bit 5th-generation V-NAND.

When data stored inside a memory cell increases from three bits to four, the chip capacity per unit area rises and the electrical charge that's used to determine information from a sensor decreases by up to 50 percent.

Not only that, but that 1Tb V-NAND chip means that Samsung will be able to "efficiently produce a 128GB memory card for smartphones", so it certainly sounds like the company's plans for QLC could lead to big changes for storage in general. Samsung hasn't announced specific pricing, but 4-bit cells should narrow the gap a little.

Manchester United reject massive offer from Bracelona for Paul Pogba
But Mourinho talks to my agent all the time, he says "bring him, bring him". They are one of the best clubs in the world so it's just normal.

This makes it considerably more hard to maintain a device's desired performance and speed. At least there's plenty of competition in the QLC space, so hopefully we'll be pleasantly surprised by the price.
